We are proud to share that Gail Gould, The CPR and Safety Lady, was recently featured in the Jewish Herald-Voice in a powerful profile highlighting her life’s work, values and unwavering commitment to keeping families safe.
The article tells the kind of story that stops you in your tracks. A young mother sends Gail a tear-filled video after saving her baby’s life when he began choking. She knew exactly what to do because she had taken one of Gail’s CPR classes for new and expectant parents just a year earlier. Moments like this are why Gail has spent more than three decades teaching lifesaving skills across the Houston community.
The Jewish Herald-Voice piece traces Gail’s journey from her upbringing in a Reform Jewish household in Dallas to her early career in fitness and wellness, and ultimately to the moment she realized CPR training was the key to making the greatest impact. What began as cold calls offering wellness programs quickly transformed into a 35-year career after she discovered how urgently people needed CPR education.
The story also shares a deeply personal chapter of Gail’s life. After years of infertility and an emotional eight-year adoption journey, Gail and her husband welcomed their son, Zachary. Becoming a mother later in life, and navigating her son’s severe asthma and life-threatening food allergies, further shaped her mission. Today, Gail not only teaches pediatric CPR but also educates parents on choking prevention, seizures, EpiPen use and emergency preparedness for children with allergies.
Today, Gail continues to teach classes, offer online courses like How to Help Your Choking Child and appear regularly on Houston morning shows to discuss seasonal safety topics. She shows it is never too late to start something new, find your purpose or make a difference.
